Mullaghcroghery

Set within a suburban context, the project, a split-level dwelling that mediated between the natural topography, Sleeping area occupied the upper volume, while the principal living spaces unfolded on the lower level, embedded within a south-east facing incline overlooking a mature spruce forest. The building was anchored into the site’s contours, generating a spatial sequence that negotiated interior and exterior conditions while responding to the terrain’s inherent geometries.

A central stair connected the upper-level enfilade of bedrooms to the open-plan living areas below, choreographing movement through the dwelling.
At the rear, a faceted living volume with subtly angled walls framed curated views toward the garden and forest beyond, while a recessed canopy created a sheltered outdoor space for year-round use.
The material palette—plastered masonry, cladding, and bronze-clad thresholds and rear façades—was conceived to patinate gracefully, fostering a quiet dialogue with the evolving suburban landscape
